Young Maori kid Casting
Set over four seasons on a humble Northland dairy farm, Northland is the story of Ross, a rough-as-guts farmer struggling to cope with the sudden death of his beloved wife Beth, and the gradual bond he builds with Bruce, his gentle only son.
Male or Female, Maori, 11-13 years old.
Marley is a rural kid - the outdoors is his/her natural environment. (S)he doesn’t love school but has great practical intelligence. (S)he can ride a horse, milk cows, stack haybales. (S)he has been raised well; (S)he’s cheeky but respectful, always upbeat. (S)he doesn’t help Ross with any deep insights or profound comments. But just by being him(her)self and by turning up every day to help around the farm, (s)he’s a big support without even knowing it.

It's important to get an idea of who they are so this could just be a chat to camera talking about a typical day in their life and the town they live in or perhaps one of the following:
1. Singing a song or performing a haka/waiata-a-ringa
2. Telling a joke
3. Riding a horse or doing something ‘outdoorsy’
